délestages et rencontres is a series of bronze sculptures created for courtyard garden of the long-term care facility, CHSLD Mirabel QC. The artwork highlights the importance of memories and the discovery of new beginnings. A selection of objects on plinths represent some of the many things left behind when having to pack up your home. Their placement on plinths is meant to underscore their importance to those have kept them for so long. Each plinth is also visited by some of the wildlife from the nearby woods in which the care home is located, to represent the new encounters mixing with the old in this next stage of life. All the sculptures are an accessible height so that the residents may easily engage with them.

délestages et rencontres s’ancre dans l’importance des souvenirs et la découverte de nouveaux contextes. La sélection d’objets représentés fait écho aux multiples choses qui ont été laissées derrière pour passer à une autre étape de la vie. Les animaux choisis sont représentatifs de ceux qui habitent le boisé mirabellois avoisinant. Leur présence évoque d’autres rencontres : celles de la nouvelle vie qui s’entremêlent avec les traces plus anciennes qui y subsistent. Toutes les sculptures sont d’un hauteur accessible afin d’encourager l’interaction des résidents.
