Shé:kon sewakwékon!

Je suis très honorée de partager les différentes activités qui se passent dans ma pratique d’artiste ce mois-ci – c’est un moment assez important et mouvementé pour moi. Je voyage à Ottawa pour le vernissage de l’exposition Àbadakone | Continuous Fire | Feu Continuel au Musée des beaux-arts du Canada. Ensuite la semaine suivante je serai à Indianapolis pour être admise à la Confrérie de l’art contemporain Eiteljorg 2019. Il y a aussi l’ouverture de l’exposition, Arts du tout-monde | Voices of the World au Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, dans laquelle j’ai une nouvelle œuvre qui en fera partie. Je suis reconnaissante que mon travail en tant qu’artiste soit reconnu par ces diverses institutions et en compagnie de tels artistes. Je veux aussi dire un grand niawenkó:wa pour le soutien continuel de ma famille, mes amis et ma communauté de proches. Ce ne serait pas possible sans vous tous.

I’m so honoured to share the various events that are happening this month – it’s an incredibly exciting time. I will be travelling to Ottawa next week for the opening of Àbadakone | Continuous Fire | Feu Continuel at the National Gallery of Canada, and then to Indianapolis the following week as one of the 2019 Eiteljorg fellows. I also have a new work that will be a part of the Musée des beaux arts de Montréal’s exhibition Arts du tout-monde | Voices of the World. I’m humbled and thankful that my artwork is being recognized by these various institutions and will be in the company of such incredible artists. I also want to say a huge niawenkó:wa for all the support from family, friends, kin and community. It wouldn’t be possible without you all.
