Shé:kon sewakwé:kon | Greetings to you all

I am honoured to share that I am one of the participating artists in the Canadian Pavilion, at the 16th Gwangju Biennale, South Korea. Curated by Ryan Rice with institutional partner Ontario College of Art and Design University, Skennenkó:wa ken? Do you carry Great Peace? features the work of myself, Melissa General and Shelley Niro. The Gwangju Biennale opens September 5 and continues to November 15, 2026.

September 30th at noon, a mural designed by myself and Kaia’tanó:ron Dumoulin-Bush, will be inaugurated at Concordia University. As a visual anchor of the newly renovated Indigenous terrace at the back of the Hall Building (1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W., Montreal), the 50ft mural titled Teionihtiohtià:kon shapes a narrative of the land, waters and sky of this territory. This project was made possible in partnership with MU Montreal and the Office of Indigenous Directions at Concordia University. More information here.

In other news… this summer, my friends/fellow artists, Caroline Monnet, Nadia Myre and Skawennati and I received Meritorious Service Medals from the Governor General for the founding of daphne, the first Indigenous Artist-Run Centre in Québec. Details on the ceremony here.

I also had the pleasure of being interviewed for the CBC radio programme, The Bridge hosted by Nantali Indongo. It was a lot of fun! You can hear the interview here.

C’est un honneur de partager avec vous que je participe à l’exposition du Pavillon canadien à la 16e Biennale de Gwangju à la Corée du sud. Le commissaire Ryan Rice, avec l’appui du partenaire institutionnel Ontario College of Art and Design University, réunit les œuvres d’art de moi-même, Melissa General et Shelley Niro sous la thématique Skennenkó:wa ken? Suivez-vous la Grande paix? La 16e Biennale de Gwangju ouvre le 5 septembre et continue jusqu’au 15 novembre, 2026.

Hannah Claus, réflexion sur le temps et l’espace à travers la production matérielle I, 2019

Le 30 septembre à midi, il y aura l’inauguration d’une murale produite en collaboration entre moi et Kaia’tanó:ron Bush-Dumoulin à l’Université Concordia. Intitulée Teionihtiohtià:kon, cette œuvre est peuplée des histoires des eaux, de la terre et du ciel de ce territoire. À 50 pieds de longueur elle surplomb la nouvelle terrasse autochtone à l’arrière de l’édifice Hall de l’Université (1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W., Montreal, QC). Cette œuvre à été réalisée en concertation avec l’organisme à but non-lucratif MU Montréal, et le Bureau de directions autochtones à Concordia. Pour plus d’informations ici

Autres nouvelles cet été: moi et mes amies artistes Caroline Monnet, Nadia Myre et Skawennati avons reçus des Médailles de service méritoire de la part de la Gouverneure générale du Canada. Cet honneur nous a été conféré pour la fondation de daphne, le premier centre d’artistes autochtone auto-géré au Québec. Plus d’infos ici
